Celebrate the food of the Middle East at this exclusive cookery masterclass with Sabrina Ghayour, author of multi-award-winning cookbook Persiana. During this hands-on course, you’ll learn how to create a spicy chicken stew, a variety of sumptuous garnishes and side dishes, and a decadent dessert, all bursting with flavours from the Southern and Eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

This class is a unique opportunity for a small group of people to soak up insights on the history of Persian cookery, and lots of practical cookery tips and ideas. After you’ve prepared your main dishes, you’ll sit down to a sumptuous meal with Sabrina, and have the chance to quiz her about her life as a cook and food writer, as well as her appearances on TV shows such as BBC Two’s Great British Menu. You’ll finish up by cooking a traditional Middle Eastern dessert that you can take home with you, and – if you’re feeling generous – share with your friends or family.

Spaces are limited to 16 people so book your place now – you’ll be amazed what you can cook up in the space of a day…

What you’ll cook…

  • A delicious spicy chicken stew with apricots, preserved lemons and eggs
  • The perfect batch of basmati rice, full of flavour and texture
  • Smoked Afghan-style aubergines with fragrant herbs
  • A zingy apple, sumac, red onion and pomegranate salad
  • Tasty lamb, fennel and apricot lollipops
  • A decadent Middle Eastern cake that you can take home with you

What to bring

  • Please bring along an apron and/or clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy, as well as some tupperware or containers

This class takes place at School of Wok, an award-winning cookery school in Covent Garden, central London
