Make sure you keep an eye on the sky tonight because the Perseid meteor shower is set to illuminate Ireland.
It's going to be the biggest shower of the year, and the peak of its appearance will be this evening and also tomorrow.
While there is always a chance that you could spot one of the meteors during the day (but not when there's clouds), there could be a prime chance to snag a peek today - weather permitting.
And the best part is that you don't need anything additional to see them. The naked eye is good enough as long as you're away from light polluted areas.
David Moore, the Editor of Astronomy Ireland magazine, said: "This has real scientific value as we only know how these meteor showers develop by members of the public counting them while they view the beautiful spectacle of nature that is a meteor shower.
"You do not need any telescopes or binoculars, just normal human eyesight, oh, and a clear sky, but a few clouds won't spoil the view especially as you have all the hours of darkness to see them and this shower is known for producing some brilliant fireballs.
"I remember seeing one that light up the whole countryside like day-light for a few seconds."

Here's everything you need to know:
How many meteors can I expect to see?
According to experts, there's going to be 20 times MORE shooting stars than normal in the skies.
What time can I see them at?
At anytime once the sky is clear, although they're going to be much easier to see in the dark.
Do I need anything to see them with?
Nope, just your eyes! For the best chance of seeing the meteor shower, stay away from highly populated areas that are flooded with lights. The less light there is, the better.
Can the weather decide if I can see them or not?
Possibly. The best conditions for visibility include clear skies. According to Met Eireann, the forecast for the next two nights will see clear skies tonight with clouds appearing by morning while Wednesday will have some mist and fog.
