Perry Jordan Brammer: Family calls for tougher sentencing as they pay tribute to London's 100th killing victim

This is the first picture of a schoolboy who is the victim of London’s 100th killing this year.

Perry Jordan Brammer, 15, was repeatedly knifed in daylight near the Broadwater Farm estate in Tottenham on August 30.

He was rushed to hospital where he died six days later. He was the 20th teenager to be killed in the capital this year and the sixth in the past month.

Perry’s family today called on the Government to introduce tougher sentences for knife offenders.

His father is the veteran Jamaican DJ Robert Brammer, who rose to fame in the Eighties performing under the name Clint Eastwood.

A relative told the Standard: “It’s a difficult time for the family, it’s a difficult time for us all.

“It’s only the Government that can put stronger powers in and sentencing. If they continue not to do it then we will continue our lives like this, our children are at risk.”

They added: “Perry is not a statistic, he was somebody’s child, he was somebody’s brother, somebody’s grandson, somebody’s friend. He’s not a statistic but unfortunately that’s how he is going to be seen.”

A JustGiving page has been set up help towards funeral costs and a memorial for Perry.

An aunt wrote: “In memory of my nephew Perry whose life was taken by cowards aged just 15. Perry still had his whole life ahead of him but it was sadly ended by a fatal stab wound to the heart six days after he was attacked in broad daylight in Tottenham.”

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John described the stabbing as a “sustained attack”, adding: “This happened in daylight and we believe there are people out there who know what happened,” he added.

Romario Lindo, 21, of Enfield, appeared at Highbury magistrates’ court charged with Perry’s murder on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information about the death of Michael Irving, also 15, who was stabbed to death during a fight in Byford Close, Stratford, on Tuesday.

A 16-year-old charged with Michael’s murder was remanded in custody by magistrates on Friday.
