Perrie Edwards says being in Little Mix got her through toughest times in her life

Perrie Edwards said being in Little Mix has got her through some of the toughest times in her life.

The singer, 28, spoke about her incredible bond with ‘sisters’ Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall in a new documentary, Little Mix At Home.

Filmed at the trio’s own houses, Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade reflect on their 10 years in the hugely successful girl group, despite recently announcing they would be going on a break.

The singer, who recently became a first-time mum in August as she welcomed baby boy Axel, said the group was ‘everything’ in her life for the last decade.

“It was our friendship, our sisterhood, our success. It was just the most incredible time in our lives,” Perrie shared.

“It was hard. It was horrendous at times. I can’t lie. We have to be honest about that. It was difficult. But I wouldn’t change any of it for the world,” she added.

She said she felt like the “luckiest girl ever to even be in the group”, and was grateful to be a part of one of the most successful girl groups in history.

Perrie credited her bandmates for helping her through the difficult times in her life, and said she was forced to ‘get on with it’ despite feeling at her lowest.

“Difficult times I would say would be struggling with personal stuff and then having to put on a brave face and act normal and get on with it when it is really hard and you don’t want to,” she confessed.

“You just want to be like, ‘Nah, f*** the world today, I am over it’ but you can’t. You have to put on a brave face and get out there and do it,” Perrie added.

The new mum was full of praise for her bandmates, and said while it’s been a rollercoaster for 10 years, she wouldn’t change a thing.

“I feel like I had my life growing up, then I had the beginning of Little Mix and then I have now – and it just feels like now we are cemented as a group,” Perrie stated.

She continued: “We have had the best time, we have had the best memories. We can look back on everything we have achieved and just think, ‘Wow’ first of all.”

Jade was also complimentary towards her Little Mix bandmates, and said she viewed Perrie and Leigh-Anne as ‘family’.

“We have definitely wanted to wring each other’s necks at some point along the way. I have definitely wanted to murder every one of them. But nobody else is allowed to,” she quipped.

“That’s family, isn’t it? I literally adore them,” Jade laughed.
