Perrie Edwards has late night curry after first of Little Mix's Newcastle gigs

Perrie Edwards tucked into a late night curry as she was joined by her mam Deborah, after Little Mix performed the first of three Newcastle shows on their Confetti tour.

Fans of the girl group were left gutted last year when the tour dates had to be pushed back almost an entire year due to the coronavirus pandemic. There was more upset for Little Mix followers towards the end of 2021, when the now trio announced that they'd be taking a break after the tour.

Having seen teasers from the opening shows in Belfast and Dublin, excitement was at fever pitch amongst Little Mix fans in Newcastle, as the Brit winners took to the stage at the Utilita Arena. And Perrie and bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock made sure that the Confetti tour was most definitely worth the wait with a show that fired on all cylinders.

And, after the curtain came down on night one in serious style with encore Sweet Melody, Perrie headed back to her hotel and ordered an Indian takeaway for her and her mam to enjoy. Perrie posted a short clip of the dishes on her Instagram story, panning the camera around to show her mam enjoying her food, as well as giving fans a glimpse at the curries, rice and naan breads they'd ordered.

Perrie included a love heart emoji with the words 'mom' on the video, along with the words 'Good Food is a Good Mood.' Perrie's late night meal came after she was reduced to tears on stage in Newcastle as she delivered a special shout out on home turf.

Speaking on the mic between songs, the 28-year-old said: "She said: “Jade, we came here a lot of times. To see our favourite bands, all our favourite artists. And I used to go to a college literally just around the corner. And back then, I was just a college girl with a big dream.”

Starting to tear up, Perrie added: “Why am I getting dead emotional?” as she reached over to Jade. Managing to keep composure, Perrie then commented: “We made it! And we just feel so grateful to be on this stage performing for you guys. And if anyone in the audience tonight has a dream, you can achieve it if you work hard.”
