Perrie Edwards admits Little Mix had to 'put brave face on' during worst situations

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has confessed that the world's biggest girl band have had to 'put a brave face' on in the some of the worst situations.

This Christmas will mark 10 years since South Shields singer Perrie and band mates Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson won The X Factor but, after nearly a decade of chart topping albums and singles and sell out tours, everything changed for Little Mix at the end of last year when Jesy quit.

Little Mix revealed her departure on their social media accounts, posting: "After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy."

"We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over."

A few weeks ago Little Mix revealed they had postponed their Confetti arena tour, which was set to get going in the spring, until next year and, reflecting on when things have been tough, Perrie, 27, told Glamour magazine: "One thing we've had to do in our careers, which is hard, is to put on a brave face.

"We're all going through the worst situations of our lives. We just want to crawl in bed, put the duvet over our heads and just never come out...

"But you know you've got people depending on you, you've got three other girls that need you there, you've got fans all over the world; you don't want to get a bad reputation."

Announcing the change to their Confetti tour, Little Mix said: "You know how much we love being on the road and performing every night for you all.

"However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we must prioritise the safety of our fans and crew and help to stop the spread."
