Perr Schuurs confirms transfer 'offers' amid Liverpool interest

Liverpool-linked defender Perr Schuurs has raised questions over his future at Serie A side Torino FC.

The future of the Holland defender has been subject to speculation amid reports in Italy claiming that the Reds are among three Premier League clubs chasing the 23-year-old.

Crystal Palace and West Ham United are among the clubs said to be interested from the English top-flight. Liverpool have reportedly already had a bid rejected for Schuurs in the region of £26m.

Tuttosport have previously claimed, via the Evening Standard, that Jurgen Klopp's side are readying a second approach for the former Ajax defender.

The newspaper version of the Italian outlet has revealed that Schuurs said his farewells to his teammates at the Serie A club. He started pre-season with the outfit before the Reds raised their offer for the defender.

However, they have yet to match Torino's asking price of €40m (£34m) but the outlet reports that his recent comments to a fan have intensified the speculation.

"I don’t know if I’m staying," he said in response to a transfer question. Schuurs added: "I don’t know if I’ll leave for Pinzolo on Monday, my agents and the club are evaluating the offers that have arrived."

It is believed that during his time with the Eredivisie side, he went on trial with the club as a 17-year-old during their injury troubles in 2020.

The ECHO understands Mickey van de Ven of Wolfsburg, who was linked earlier in the summer, hasn't been subject to a pursued approach from Liverpool.

Torino's Holland international Perr Schuurs - who the Reds assessed during his time at Ajax - is one of several other players of which the recruitment team are aware.

The ideal target, though, remains Chelsea's Levi Colwill, with the ECHO having reported back in March of Liverpool's admiration of the player. after impressing on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion last season and more recently helping England.
