Permanent TSB scam: Warning to Irish customers of all banks to watch out for sneaky text

Permanent TSB customers are being warned about a clever scam currently circulating.

People are receiving texts telling them their account has been frozen and to click a link to find out more.

The message is being sent to customers of PTSB as well as many people who do not have an account with the bank.

A spokesperson for the company has warned people to be wary of the text and not to click anything they are unsure of.

The spokesperson said: "Customers, please be wary of text messages in circulation claiming to be from permanent tsb.

"Under no circumstances will we ask you to divulge card or security details. If you have confirmed security details, please call our 24 hour Fraud Department on +353 (1) 669 5851."
