'Perfect fit' - Leeds United told to sign Nottingham Forest transfer target

Darren Bent has tipped Leeds United to sign reported Nottingham Forest target Cauley Woodrow.

Woodrow has been linked with a move to Forest and their fellow Championship promotion-chasers Leeds United and Bristol City.

However, it was claimed yesterday that Leeds are not in for the Barnsley striker .

Woodrow has nine goals to his name this season for the struggling Tykes, who sit in second bottom after a difficult season back in the Championship after promotion from League One.

The former Fulham man his 18 goals the season previously and has a good record in the Championship having also scored goals for Burton Albion and Bristol City in the division.

And ex-Derby County striker Bent reckons Leeds should sign Woodrow, who made a permanent move to Oakwell in January last year.

"Cauley Woodrow linked with Leeds, I think he would be a perfect fit," Bent said on talkSPORT as quoted by HITC .

"Nketiah has left there now, he wasn't getting enough game time, but I think Cauley, he offers something a little different.

"He can play number 10. He works extremely hard. I had him at Fulham, he was only a young kid then. He wants to get better and he wants to learn. And I think he's good enough to make the step up.

"I saw him only in flashes at Fulham when he came in for certain games but it was hard for him because we were struggling at the time. But I am a big fan of Cauley and I think if he went to Leeds then that would be a fantastic signing for Leeds."
