Steve Bould's 33-year career with Arsenal is coming to an end this summer, the club has confirmed.
Bould, formerly a Gunners central defender, won the double during his playing days, but has been working at the club since 2001, after retiring from professional football in 2000.
The former Arsenal defender has been running the club's Under-23s over the past two seasons, working closely with Per Mertesacker.
Announcing the decision, academy manager Mertesacker said: “Steve has been a fantastic servant for us on and off the pitch.
"His record as a player speaks for itself and he has been an inspiration to generations of young players coming through the academy.
“This has been a very hard decision to make. Steve’s contribution to the under-23s and the club as a whole has been huge and he will always be an important figure in our history.”
Technical director Edu also spoke about Bould's emotional departure: “We are massively grateful to Steve for everything.
"He has helped develop so many top professionals and his experience and character has had a huge impact.
"I would like to add my thanks for his contribution and wish him and his family well for the future.”
Bould spent six seasons as the assistant manager to Arsene Wenger, before making the move to the club's academy in 2019.
Bould was never shy in admitting his admiration for Wenger, even in the latter stages of his time with Arsenal when the club icon was coming in for immense criticism.
"I admire him immensely. He takes an awful lot of stick off a lot of people and he's just one of the great managers. It's a pleasure for me to sit next to him," Bould told reporters.
"He's doing a great job as far as I'm concerned and he's done a great job for an awful long time."
