'Pep's style starting to show!' - Arsenal fans agree on Mikel Arteta after Aston Villa win

Arsenal delivered a scintillating display against Aston Villa on Friday night.

The Gunners came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, dominating possession of the ball whilst also creating a number of quality opportunities.

Eventually, tough-tackling midfielder Thomas Partey opened the scoring for Mikel Arteta's side, netting from an Emile Smith Rowe corner in the 14th minute before club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the lead on the cusp of half-time.

Arsenal had been awarded a penalty after Alexandre Lacazette was fouled in the box by Villa wingback Matt Targett, with Aubameyang's penalty saved by Emiliano Martinez before the Gabon frontman converted the rebound.

Hale End graduate Emile Smith Rowe then made it 3-0 before the hour mark before substitute Jacob Ramsey got a goal back for the visitors in the 82nd minute.

After the full-time whistle, a number of Arsenal fans took to social media to praise the performance, as well as Arteta's tactics.

Here is how a select few on Twitter reacted to the match.

@goonerjames: "Best I have seen arsenal play in time."

@EnzoBreezy58: "Always knew Arteta was the best man for the Arsenal job...kudos to him and Arsenal...They’ve got their dream Coach...#ArtetaIn."

@Iykethemenace: "Best Arsenal performance under Arteta thus far."

@Adrian_Forde: "This is probably our best performance under Arteta."

@WaveyTimz277: "The Arteta and Ole comparisons, make no sense. Arteta actually learned coaching under Pep Guardiola and was taught at La Masia, in regards to receiving a proper football education. Ole? Forever talks about passion, whenever his team loses. There’s no comparison!"

@YungTyran: "Arteta is moving like Pep today."

@Dougie93: "Arsenal have been absolutely class tonight. Arteta/Pep’s style starting to show #ARSAVL."

@padrepedri: "Arteta might be guardiola's regen."
