Liverpool assistant boss Pep Lijnders has praised both Xherdan Shaqiri and Neco Williams ahead of the Reds' Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal on Thursday night.
Shaqiri made his first start of the calendar year in round four of the tournament last week, while Williams was reportedly the target of some social media criticism after the match, which Liverpool won 7-2.
On Shaqiri, Lijnders said: "He had a superb game against Lincoln in a different position to he is used to playing so that makes it even more recognisable and great.
"Also, for himself, to play [after a difficult spell with injuries] and play in this manner. If we expect one thing from Shaq it is that he tries to dictate the game and search for attacking solutions and be involved in the build-up and creating."
Both Shaqiri and Williams will be hoping to earn a start at Anfield with a much-changed XI expected to be fielded from Monday's Premier League clash against the same opponents.
On Williams, Lijnders added: "First of all, and this is the most important to understand, Neco is a 'do-er'. A 'do-er' makes mistakes - we don't want safe play. We don't want a player who doesn't take risks.
"Our game is based on everybody taking initiative and that is what we want.

"One of the most important lessons for each player coming through is that it is a weakness if you get caught up in praise and criticisms.
"He dealt with it really well and we had players speaking with him, and our manager speaking with him.
"You cannot get caught up with praise nor criticism - both will not help you as a young player."
The draw for round five of the Carabao Cup will take place at full-time in Liverpool's game.
Should Liverpool progress, the next round is scheduled to take place in the week commencing December 21.
