Pep Guardiola spotted at high-end Japanese restaurant in Manchester

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been spotted at a new luxury restaurant in Manchester city centre. A picture of the smiling football manager, stood with the head chef was shared last night after the star dined at the recently launched Japanese restaurant.

In the picture the City boss can be seen wearing a high-neck jumper and trousers alongside chef-patron Michael Shaw in his chef whites. Accompanying the snap, Michael captioned the post: "Good to see @pepteam and his son Marius in for dinner @musumcr very complimentary #japanese #suhshi #manchetser."

Musu opened on Bridge Street in the city centre in November and is bringing 'high-end' Japanese dining to Manchester. The restaurant is the creation of two of Manchester’s most experienced hospitality specialists - Vincent Braine and Marius Kamara whose past credits include venues such as Suede, The Milton Club and Dive Bar & Grill.

Located in the former Randall & Aubin site, the food is a 'contemporary interpretation of Japanese dishes' and has been crafted by chef-patron Michael Shaw, formerly of Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and more recently at the acclaimed White Hart at Lydgate.

The chef has spent the last 18 months honing his passion for Japanese cuisine, with all the precision and skill that entails. The result is a tasting menu concept designed to deliver a 'multi-sensory dining experience'.

The restaurant, which is quickly becoming a celeb hangout, recently welcomed pop icon Jason Derulo, who dined at the Bridge Street spot in early December. Michael Shaw shared the news with his followers on Instagram writing: "Special guest last night @jasonderulo with us @musumcr".

In the post, the star could be seen smiling and with his arm round the chefs shoulder, and was wearing a black t-shirt, back jeans and silver necklace.

The main elements of the dining experience at Musu is the 7-course and 11-course Kaiseki tasting menus. The ambitions of this new spot are clear here - with menus priced a £110 for the 7-course menu and £150 for the 11-course menu, placing it as among one of the most expensive menus in Manchester.

There is also an a la carte Sentaku menu, which takes diners on a "tasting journey" with options of sushi, tempura and a grill section, as well as a more casual lunch menu with dishes starting from £6.50. Cocktails at the plush Japanese restaurant, meanwhile, are priced between £14 and £17.
