Pep Guardiola slams seats and shouts at John Stones on Manchester City bench

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was seen slamming seats and shouting at John Stones during the club's UEFA Champions League clash with Atalanta.

The Premier League champions were forced into a first-half substitution with the score at 2-1 as Rodri was forced off through injury.

The Spanish centre-midfielder, once again deputising at the heart of their defence, was replaced by Stones shortly before the interval.

As Stones was preparing to come on, BT Sport footage showed Guardiola furiously slamming chairs as Stones continued to change into the correct attire. The City boss was clearly frustrated by his lack of urgency, with the scoreline 2-1 at the time.

With Rodri potentially out injured this weekend, Stones could make his first Premier League start since City's 3-2 defeat to Norwich City when they host take on Aston Villa on Saturday.

Whilst the extent of the midfielder's injury is unknown, he appeared to be holding his hamstring which could rule him out for a number of weeks.

To make matters worse for Stones, the 25-year-old was sporting a massive black eye as he entered the field.

Despite playing only 11 minutes against Crystal Palace at the weekend, the centre-back was left with a massive black eye for his troubles.

Stones received a nasty gash above his right eye during the contest which left blood pouring down his face and his shirt.
