Pep Guardiola shares message with Man City fans after making history

Pep Guardiola has outlined his 'pride' after breaking yet another record as Manchester City manager.

The 50-year-old former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach guided his team to a memorable victory over Chelsea this Saturday lunchtime - with Gabriel Jesus netting the match-winner at Stamford Bridge.

Already significant enough in the early Premier League title race this season, that was also the 221st time Guardiola has been on on the right side of a result since taking charge in 2016.

No manager in City history has totted-up the same winning tally.

Having coasted to a third Premier League title in four seasons - in addition to winning another Carabao Cup - City have now issued a real statement of intent this campaign by defeating Chelsea on an afternoon where neighbours Manchester United were also beaten at Old Trafford.

But these things must come one game at a time on a record-breaking day for the Spaniard.

During a post-match interview with BT Sport, the City manager said: "I'm so proud we have done it this milestone here at Stamford Bridge [and against] the last Champions League winner. It's special.

"The spirit we have together has been magnificent. We can lose games and lose finals, but people cannot say that we cannot play every game with exceptional courage in Stamford Bridge or at Anfield, anytime we go to try to do our game and that has made me proud a little bit for myself, but especially for the club."
