Pep Guardiola reveals Man City plans during first Premier League winter break

Manchester City will not go away for warm-weather training during the Premier League's first winter break, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

The Blues don't have a game for 13 days, between the Etihad fixture on Sunday, February 9, and the trip to Leicester City on February 22.

All 20 top flight clubs have a two-week break during February, with the Premier League introducing a winter break for the first time this season.

While some clubs will jet off for sunshine and training in warmer climates, the Blues will stay in Manchester, with Guardiola wanting his players to stay close to their familieis.

He will grant them a few days off after the game with the Hammers before the squad returns to the Etihad Campus for training.

"A few days off and after that we’ll train again, three or four days and then plan for Real Madrid and Arsenal. We’ll train here," Guardiola said of the plans for the break.

"I thought about it but I want the guys to stay with their families and then come back. I’ve decided we’ll be here."

All Premier League teams will have their two-week break in February, with the fixtures split between the second week in February and the third week in February.
