Pep Guardiola reveals Kevin De Bruyne injury with midfielder potential doubt for West Ham clash

Manchester City were given an injury concern on Sunday afternoon as star man Kevin De Bruyne wasn't fit to travel to Fulham in the Premier League.

The Belgian international has seven goals and 18 assists in 29 top-flight matches this season but picked up a knock during City's recent 4-1 win over Arsenal last Wednesday, being substituted with ten minutes to go having scored twice in the game.

While Guardiola didn't seem too concerned with the problem, it was enough to keep him out of the trip to Fulham on Sunday afternoon, with his availability for the midweek game against West Ham on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium now uncertain.

Speaking at Craven Cottage prior to kick-off, Guardiola said of De Bruyne: "He doesn't feel good. He has an injury and could not travel." Guardiola also would not put a timescale on the midfielder's return.

Also absent at Craven Cottage was Nathan Ake, who is nearing a return and back doing fitness work at the training ground, and Cole Palmer. Victory over Marco Silva's side would allow City to leapfrog Arsenal into first place in the Premier League table, with the club still having an additional game in hand on their title rivals.

West Ham will be without striker Gianluca Scamacca, who will not feature again this season after undergoing knee surgery. Centre-back Kurt Zouma is a doubt after he was taken off injured during the Hammers' 4-3 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
