Pep Guardiola has said that he will not talk about a transfer move for Harry Kane ahead of Manchester City's clash with Tottenham this weekend.
The Spurs striker has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer, with City among the potential suitors for the England captain, who has previously spoken of his desire to win trophies.
Last week, Guardiola confirmed that City were interested in signing the striker, but that if Tottenham were not willing to negotiate a deal, then there was little they could do about it.
But responding to a question over Kane at his pre-match press conference ahead of City's clash with Spurs, Guardiola said: "I answered this question the previous press conference. He's a player from Tottenham Hotspur, so I'm not going to talk about.
"I made an exception last time, usually I don't talk about transfers, it is none of my business."
However, the City boss has now changed his answer regarding the Spurs striker, with his comments coming after Nuno Espirito Santo aimed a thinly-veiled dig when he made it clear he would not speak about players from other clubs.
He was asked about Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, a player that Spurs have been credited with an interest in this summer.
"I will not speak about any player," said Espirito Santo. "I will speak only about my players, Spurs players."
Espirito Santo has been speaking about Kane at his own pre-match press conference, with the Spurs boss admitting that the striker is now back in training, after a period of isolation following a summer holiday.
The Portuguese, speaking in a pre-match press conference, said: "Harry joined the group today, he trained, we had a talk. Of course it's a private conversation but everything is OK.
"He's preparing himself, like Bryan [Gil], like [Cristian] Romero, players that joined us later. We have to be careful but everything's OK. We still have the session tomorrow to decide on players that don't have too many sessions with us. We have to think and we still have the day of tomorrow to make decisions."
