Pep Guardiola praises three Man City players for role in his favourite goal vs Norwich

Pep Guardiola joked that Kyle Walker was Manchester City's playmaker in their win over Norwich on Saturday.

City beat Norwich 5-0, with three of the goals coming down their right thanks to a productive new partnership between Walker and Gabriel Jesus, who impressed in an unfamiliar right-wing role.

The first goal came from Jesus' cross, while Walker sent Jesus to the byline for the assist for Jack Grealish's second. Aymeric Laporte converted from a corner to make it three before Raheem Sterling tapped in from close range after another Walker through-ball for Jesus.

Riyad Mahrez beat the offside trap to make it five late on, but Guardiola admitted after the game that it was Sterling's goal that left him with the best feeling.

"It was so good. It was quite similar for the second one," he said.

"The movement from Gabriel was exceptional. The pass from our playmaker Kyle Walker was so good. After the tempo in that situation, Raheem is a machine.

"When the ball goes in the back line and he moves in the central position, he has a sense of goal. Now has to come back, doing when he starts as a winger."

Guardiola also hailed Jack Grealish for scoring his first goal, as he assessed the overall performance.

"Really good, really pleased," the manager said.

"We came back stronger than our defeat with our fans it was so nice to be there. They enjoyed 5-0, good moments, completely attack and go forward.

"First step [for Grealish], first victory for him in our club, I hope it would be the first of many. Goal, he was aggressive with the ball, it was good. We tried to have him to score."
