Pep Guardiola outlines what he expects as Manchester City and Spurs clash again

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he is expecting another "intense" game as his side lock horns with Tottenham once again tomorrow (Saturday).

The two sides go head-to-head again at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow, just three days after an incredible Champions League quarter-final clash, which finished 4-3 to City, only for Spurs to go through on away goals.

The game was packed full of goals and drama, with City being denied an injury time winner after a VAR review, with Raheem Sterling's strike being ruled out after Sergio Aguero was adjudged to be offside.

But ahead of the Premier League fixture between the two sides tomorrow, Guardiola has said he expects another difficult game, as he praised City's opponents.

"I think it will be another intense game. It is what it is, playing Tottenham again. We have to deal with the emotion," the City boss said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

What Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said about Man City & Tottenham that Spurs fans will love

"I think both teams will attack, long balls to [Fernando] Llorente or [Lucas] Moura, and good set pieces. We are going to attack and it is not easy, because they are an incredible, top team."

Meanwhile, Guardiola reflected on his side's exit from the Champions League on Wednesday, with the Manchester City boss expressing his pride in his players and how they played on a rollercoaster night.

"It was incredible how we played [on Wednesday], and we were close. It was not boring, definitely," he said.

Manchester City receive injury boost ahead of Tottenham clash

"You have to fight and compete against an opponent. It was incredible how we competed, and we have to accept it. It will be in our minds, but looking behind will not help us to move forward. We stand up and move forward.

"We have another opportunity to show what we deserve. One day maybe we will be in the same position and we will be fortunate, or lucky to go through to the next stage. I am so proud of the players, we lose, but I am so proud."
