Pep Guardiola message to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after Man City boss wins award

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has sent a classy message to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after the former landed the Premier League manager of the season award.

Guardiola was handed the gong on Tuesday evening ahead of the likes of Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino and Nuno Espírito Santo, who guided Wolves to seventh.

Man City amassed 98 points this past season but only edged out Liverpool by just one point on the final day thanks to a 4-1 win at Brighton. It marked an incredible finish to the campaign for the Blues, who won their last 14 games.

But Guardiola was quick to also pay tribute to Klopp when he spoke at the LMA Awards dinner in London.

The Harry Wilson transfer dilemma Jurgen Klopp could face at Liverpool this summer

"It's an honour to receive this award," Guardiola said. "I want to share it with my players because they are the artists, to my staff because we fought a lot and especially for the all the managers in the Premier League, especially Jurgen Klopp. He was an incredible contender to face until the end.

"It was a pleasure to play against all of them and hopefully next season we can see each other and do big big battles again to win this incredible title, the Premier League."

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder grabbed the Championship manager of the season award after guiding the Blades to automatic promotion, with the manager receiving the award from Sir Alex Ferguson.
