Pep Guardiola makes Man City prediction that will worry Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided a Champions League prediction that will worry Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham fans.

Guardiola's men currently face the prospect of a ban from the prestigious European competition pending an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

City were banned for two years from UEFA competitions after being found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

Deloitte predicts Premier League clubs will lose £1bn revenue this season

But they expect to hear a judgement from the Court of Arbitration for Sport on their appeal on July 13.

If such a punishment is upheld, fifth place in the Premier League would be a Champions League spot, something which would provide a boost for Chelsea, Arsenal and even potentially Tottenham, though their chances of European football are slim at best.

But Guardiola remains confident that there will be no boost for other rivals and he feels his club will escape the European penalty.

"We are ready," Guardiola said.

"I have a lot of confidence and trust with the people that we will be allowed to play the Champions League because we want to be on the field during these years.

"On 13 July we will know the resolution, hopefully, for the club - all the workers, players and everyone here, staff - to try to continue growing up as a club in the next years."
