Speculation over Harry Kane's Tottenham future will no doubt go into overdrive once Euro 2020 comes to an end this Sunday.
Fully focused on leading England to the final of the competition with a semi-final showdown to come against Denmark on Wednesday, the Tottenham man has always stated that his priority is focusing on the Three Lions at present rather than getting into talk over his Spurs future.
Outstanding last season as he hit another level under Jose Mourinho, the Lilywhites' failure to finish in the top four once again means Kane will miss out on Champions League football for a second season running.
Following reports in May that the 27-year-old has told Tottenham he wants to depart this summer, Man City have been linked with a big-money move for the Premier League's Golden Boot winner as they look to bring in a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
The league champions, who have also been linked with Jack Grealish ahead of the transfer deadline, may have plenty of money available to spend this summer but they would have to offer Daniel Levy around £150million if they want to prise Kane away from Tottenham.
Speaking to TV3 while holidaying in Spain, Man City boss Pep Guardiola was asked about his club's transfer plans and suggested that they would be prepared to spend £100m on a player.
However, he did indicate that things are not always possible in the transfer market.
"I imagine that if we want to sign a Barca or Madrid player for 100 million or so, Barca and Madrid will not complain," he said, as reported by Manchester Evening News. "They will be delighted that it can be done, I wish now they would.
"I don't know how the market will end. I don't know, with Txiki [Begiristain], what we can do because many times you want to do things that are not possible.
"What we can do, we will do and if we do not continue with the squad we have, with which we have won three Leagues in four years, we have finally reached a Champions League final.”
Tottenham's new managing director of football Fabio Paratici was quizzed on Kane's future when speaking to Sky in Italy over the weekend and stated that Spurs want to keep the England ace at the club.
Speaking in an interview with talkSPORT, Paratici's comments were put to Kane and he had his say on the current situation.
"Of course as a player you want to be wanted, you want to feel like you’re loved, which I do," he explained.
“I haven’t had the chance to talk to any of these people yet. I’m sure we’ll get to know each other after the tournament, have a phone call or two once I get a week or two of holiday.
“To get praise from big people from football is great, it gives you confidence, it gives you motivation so of course it’s nice to hear.”
