Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed suggestions that his team are the best in Europe, insisting they are not even the best in England.
David Moyes anointed Guardiola's team as such after watching his West Ham side narrowly lose on Saturday.
It was City's 20th win in a row across all competitions, and 14th in the Premier League, allowing them to open up a 12-point gap at the top.
But, Guardiola says it is Champions League holders Bayern Munich and Premier League champions Manchester City who are the continent's top dogs.
Guardiola said: "The best team in Europe in the world are Bayern Munich because they won everything. In England the champions are Liverpool, so they are the best.
"You have to win. In February or March nobody is champions."
Despite racking up a remarkable run, Guardiola says he or his players have been unable to enjoy the records tumbling due to the hectic fixture list.
Up next is Wolves on Tuesday, with the City boss is wary of Nuno Espirito Santo's team after losing to them twice last season.
He said: "We don't have time [to celebrate the statisic]. There are many games, every three days. We have to rest and think of another one.
"The day of the game, all the managers say when you win you are happy that night but the day after you think of the next one."
He added: "The history against [Wolves] shows us how tough it is. We know it. We know exactly the type of game we have to play.
"We have to be so intense but, at the same time, calm. They have the ability to punish you. In the last two years it was so tough."
