Pep Guardiola linked with shock Juventus move after reported approach for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has agreed a deal with Juventus to take up the vacant managerial role, according to claims from Italy.

Italian journalist Federico Gennarelli of Radio Sportiva is reporting that Guardiola will leave Man City after taking them to a domestic treble to join the Serie A club in a shock switch.

Guardiola saw off fierce competition from Liverpool to claim the Premier League title on the final day of the season before his side defeated Watford 6-0 in the FA Cup final to make it a clean sweep for the season.

But that apparently could be his last act in charge of Man City, if the Italian reports are to be be believed.

Gennarelli said on Twitter: “It was supposed to be the decisive day. It was: Pep #Guardiola will be the new coach of the #Juventus. 4-year contract. Deal done.”

The claim follows reports from Guardiola’s native Spain that he met with Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici in Milan.

It is unclear how reliable the report is, and Guardiola has previously denied that a move away from City is imminent.

This comes after previous reports had suggested that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was near the top of the wishlist for the Old Lady.

Klopp on a dramatic season: "in another country 97 points would easily have been enough to win the league"

The Serie A champions were said to be keen to speak with Klopp but he had no interest in replacing Max Allegri who left on Friday.

The Liverpool boss is preparing for the Champions League final with Spurs after leading his side to a record points total as they finished one point behind City in the Premier League title race.

The latest odds for the Juventus job currently have Guardiola as 2/1 favourite with Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri at 4/1.

Klopp is now priced at 28/1 after previously being available at 14/1 as Juve look elsewhere.
