But despite being widely-regarded the best manager in the world, Guardiola is not in contention to scoop the top prize at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp just missed out on winning the title last season, but guided the Reds to their first Champions League victory since 2005.
As a result of his achievement in Europe's biggest competition, the German has been included in the five-man shortlist.
The other men in with a chance of winning the Coach of the Year award are: Massimiliano Allegri, Erik ten Hag, Djamel Belmadi and Fernando Santos.
Allegri won a fifth consecutive Serie A title at Juventus last season before going on a sabbatical, while Ten Hag achieved Eredivisie success with Ajax and guided the Dutch side to a Champions League semi-final.
Santos won the inaugural Nations League with Portugal, and finally Algeria boss Belmadi guided the country to the Africa Cup of Nations title.
The Globe Soccer Awards is organised by the European Association of Player's Agents and the European Club Association.
The five managers above were selected by a panel of international directors, chairmen and coaches including Eric Abidal, Fabio Capello, Luis Figo and Antonio Conte.
It is in its eleventh year and the event will take place on December 29 in Dubai.
