Pep Guardiola leaves Aberdeen kids starstruck as he makes classy gesture

Aberdeen kids were left starstruck when Pep Guardiola showed a touch of class during a youth tournament at the weekend.

The Pittodrie club’s academy were down at Manchester City taking on the elite of Europe such as Juventus and Chelsea in the International Cup.

And they flew the flag for Scotland with a number of fine performances and results. They drew with Wigan, lost to City and Chelsea but beat Girona.

And it was after the Girona clash Guardiola approached the Aberdeen youngsters to congratulate them.

The legendary Barcelona midfielder told the 10-11 year olds that he was going to come and watch them in their next game, against Feyenoord.

And the 48-year-old – who is vying with Liverpool for the Premier League title – kept his promise.

Unfortunately for the young Dons, they slipped to a 3-1 defeat to the Dutch giants but that didn’t take the shine off seeing Guardiola on the touchline.

Especially when the Catalan has bigger things on his mind.

His City side face Leicester City on Monday night and will go one point ahead of Liverpool at the top of the table should they beat Brendan Rodgers’ team.
