Pep Guardiola is looking for more Man City mistakes on tour

Pep Guardiola wants his players to make mistakes as he moulds his squad for their latest Premier League title defence.

Manchester City have been untouchable in the Premier League for two seasons, following up their 100-point campaign with 98 to claim successive titles and leave them as the best side in the country.

However, they can expect serious competition next season as their rivals plot how to take down the top team with Liverpool desperate to end their wait for a league title.

As expected, there were signs of rustiness from a squad that only touched down in China the day before their match with West Ham . New signings Rodri and Angelino both erred for the opening goal, but Guardiola is happy to see mistakes rack up from his new charges if it means they learn how to meet his demands.

"They play really good, they make a mistake but they have to adapt to our way," he said. "All 22 players they made an incredible effort to play in these conditions its really tough for them.

"They want to do it but they can't make their legs move faster. We want to come back to Europe and Manchester having learnt things by playing and making mistakes to improve and try to win the games."
