Pep Guardiola hints at Man City free transfer

Pep Guardiola left the door open for Dani Alves to join Manchester City - two years after he snubbed them to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.

Guardiola and Alves enjoyed success together at Barcelona and the Brazilian has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League.

His performances at the Copa America this summer - where he was selected ahead of City's Danilo - showed that he still has plenty to offer and it is clear that the Blues boss is an admirer.

"We know, as all the important clubs know, about his situation," he said.

"He is an incredible player and an extraordinary person - but we have two incredible full-backs so it is what it is."

While City do have two right-backs in Kyle Walker and Danilo, there is uncertainty over the latter's future at the club given his lack of playing time. Should Danilo secure a move away from the Etihad before the transfer window closes, City could move for Alves.

As for outgoings this summer, the only talking point has come in the form of Leroy Sane - with Bayern Munich desperate for his services.

And despite Bayern's constant badgering, Guardiola hasn't lost his affection for his former side.

"I love Bayern Munich," the City boss said. "I appreciate them a lot, they gave me an incredible opportunity to work in Germany.

"Football is what it is. Sometimes I say things the opposite side don’t like."
