Phil Foden has a chance of returning to the Manchester City squad for tomorrow's lunchtime clash with Wolves.
The 21-year-old was taken off at half time of the midweek defeat at RB Leipzig with a recurrence of his ankle problem, leading to doubts he would not be fit for the weekend.
But he has returned to training - along with Nathan Ake, who was substituted with a back injury - Foden has returned and his condition will be assessed after this afternoon's session.
The Blues are expected to make a swathe of changes from the team that finished off the group stage of the Champions League in Germany, with Gabriel Jesus and Aymeric Laporte also hoping to be available.
They missed the Leipzig trip but were back in the gym at the City Football Academy on Wednesday, raising hopes that both should be OK for a game that could see the Blues move four points clear at the top of the Premier League, with rivals Liverpool and Chelsea both playing later in the day.
Guardiola brushed off a question about his injured players, saying "We will assess this afternoon at training."
Foden is a nomination for our City Fans' Footballer of the Year award - vote below or here :
But when asked about Foden specifically, he replied: "He still has a niggle but every time he plays he will get better and better. He will say how he feels. Knowing Phil he'll want to be there for us so we'll see, game-by-game."
City are also expected to welcome back Joao Cancelo, Rodri and Bernardo Silva, all exempted from the trip to Leipzig after playing the most minutes of all the outfield players this season.
