Pep Guardiola gives Man City Zinchenko injury update ahead of FA Cup semi-final

Manchester City are likely to be without left back Oleksandr Zinchenko for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton at the weekend.

The 22-year-old came off in the first half of the 2-0 win against Cardiff City at the Etihad on Wednesday night with what looked like a hamstring injury and Pep Guardiola confirmed he was not confident over his fitness for Saturday's gamae.

"It doesn’t look good," Guardiola said in his post match press conference. "Right know I don’t know but it doesn’t look good for next game."

Fabian Delph is 'definitely out' and it was put to the City manager that maybe Benjamin Mendy who has not started for City since November could be back in contention.

"We will see tomorrow how he trains and how he feels but we don’t have many options," Guardiola added.

Zinchenko has started City's last six league games at left-back and Guardiola admitted it will be a blow for him should the defender be ruled out.

"He gives a lot and is an important player for us," Guardiola said. "He knows how we play but it is what it is, during the season this has happened a lot we play a lot of minutes we will accept it and will find a solution.

"I don’t know which one because Danilo not his natural position because he is right. We will see what decision to make ahead of the FA Cup semi final."
