Pep Guardiola gives Kevin De Bruyne injury update ahead of Tottenham and PSG fixtures

Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be fit for next week's Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Manchester City midfielder's injury is not as bad as first feared, and he could even be ready for Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Spurs, after missing the 2-1 win at Aston Villa.

De Bruyne limped out of the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea at the weekend after landing awkwardly and damaging his ankle and foot, being replaced by Phil Foden.

He will be assessed again tomorrow to see if he can return to training, a huge boost to City's hopes as they continue to chase three trophies.

"It was less than we expected - yesterday he felt much better," said Guardiola when asked about the Belgium midfielder. "Today I didn’t speak to him but we’ll see tomorrow in training – I think if he’s not ready for the final, but maybe the semi-final of the Champions League."
