Here are your Manchester City evening headlines for Sunday, July 3:
Guardiola warned Manchester United of Ronaldo transfer risk
While things are moving along nicely in the transfer window for the blue half of Manchester, it’s a much different story on the red side. United are still yet to make their first signing of the summer, and now they’re facing yet more reports of a potential exit for Cristiano Ronaldo.
City were of course close to signing the Portuguese ace last summer before he eventually made his return to Old Trafford. As things turned out, the Blues managed just fine without a striker, while United struggled even with Ronaldo in their side, and now reports suggest he wants to leave.
The speculation will no doubt bring back memories of last summer for City fans, with some perhaps viewing it as a luck escape. And with Ronaldo’s future back in the headlines, supporters have dug up a timely warning from Pep Guardiola on the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
City fans send £120m message as Bernardo ‘agrees’ to join Barcelona
Bernardo Silva’s future is once again up for discussion this summer, with reports in Spain suggesting the midfielder has decided he wants to join Barcelona. City are said to have slapped a €100m price tag on him, but the Catalan side are hoping to lower the fee by at least €40m.
That could see City losing one of their best players for around £50m. It’s fair to say that fans would be less than impressed with losing such a popular member of the squad for so little.
Guardiola has already stated this summer that he expects Bernardo to remain at City. And in response to the latest reports, fans have issued a strong message on his valuation.
