Pep Guardiola explains Man City stance on Antoine Griezmann transfer

Pep Guardiola will sit down with his Manchester City bosses after the FA Cup final to draw up plans for the club's transfer strategy this summer.

But one name who won't be on the list is Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, despite City being linked with a move for the France internatonal.

Just a year after filming a documentary to announce his intention to stay at Atletico, Griezmann this week performed a U-turn and declared he will depart the Wanda Metropolitano.

Barcelona is his expected destination, but on Friday reports emerged that City were in the running for the 28-year-old and were considering activating his £108million release clause.

But Guardiola said City could not afford a move for the forward this summer.

"People of Barcelona, don’t worry guys, we are not going to buy Griezmann, we cannot afford it," the City boss said.

"The people at Barcelona don’t need to worry, we are not interested.”
