Pep Guardiola expects Man City changes against Bournemouth before Arsenal FA Cup semi-final

Pep Guardiola has told Manchester City fans to expect up to six changes to the starting XI for the next game.

At Brighton on Saturday evening, there were six changes from the Blues side that had hammered Newcastle 5-0 in midweek. That made little difference to the performance though as City racked up another hatful against Graham Potter's side to move to 91 Premier League goals for the season with matches against Bournemouth, Watford, and Norwich to come.

City's players are battling to be named in the starting lineups for the most important matches remaining in the campaign, starting with the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal next week and the Champions League last-16 clash with Real Madrid next month.

However, Guardiola - who made five substitutions in the Brighton game to make full use of his squad - has said that there will again be considerable changes when they take on Bournemouth on Wednesday in their next Premier League game.

After that, the manager will decide who makes his XI for the Wembley fixture that will be next up.

"We play one team last game against Newcastle, today another one," he said.

"Another four, five, six players will play against Bournemouth and against Arsenal I will select what I believe is best for the team."

City will find out on Monday if they will be able to play in the Champions League for the next two seasons, but have mathematically confirmed second place in this year's Premier League.

"We have done what we have done, win the games and our qualification on the pitch," said Guardiola. "No-one can have doubts about this.

"After the outstanding season from Liverpool - and congratulations to them again for the Premier League - in general, the level we played today was quite similar all season and now we will wait on Monday for the decision that will be taken."
