Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he is “more than happy” with his current squad amid his continued pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
The England captain has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium throughout the summer after Kane expressed his desire to compete for major trophies.
So far, Daniel Levy has refused to sanction a deal and football.london understands that the Spurs chairman is not keen on selling his star striker at all, with reports that there is a £150m price-tag on the 28-year-old.
That has not halted considerable rumours and even Guardiola himself weighed in, stating that should Tottenham refuse to engage in talks with the current Premier League champions, Kane would simply remain in north London.
Speaking earlier this month, the Spaniard said: "He's a player for Tottenham Hotspur and if Tottenham don't want to negotiate, it's finished.
"If they are open to negotiate then not only Man City, many clubs in the world want to sign him, we are not an exception. It depends on Tottenham.
"Jack [Grealish] was different, he had a release clause and he is different. Harry Kane is an exceptional, extraordinary striker, no doubts about that. Of course we are interested in him but he is a Tottenham player and if they don't want to negotiate, nothing more to say and if they want it we will try, that's all."
He has now dropped an even bigger clue that City could be set to move on having admitted that he is content with his squad despite having only added Jack Grealish - albeit at a British transfer record price.
When asked if he was happy with their current incomings in a press conference, Guardiola replied: “Absolutely. More than happy.
“It is the same team, except Sergio [Aguero] for Jack Grealish, that we had last season.”
Kane still has three years left to run on his current Spurs contract.
