Pep Guardiola insists he will not walk away from Manchester City in the summer – despite fresh claims of a break clause in his contract.

Guardiola denied any such stipulation exists and is adamant he will see out the remaining year of his deal at a minimum.

The Catalan has repeatedly had to quash suggestions his time at the Etihad is set to end.

And responding to reports he and the club could go separate ways as a result of an agreement inserted into the contract he signed in 2018, he said: “It’s not true,” he said. “I spoke about that a few weeks ago - about my intentions for the club.”

Speculation over his future is a continuing theme, with him repeatedly linked with a move to Juventus last summer and more recently Bayern Munich.

Just last month Guardiola assured City fans, he is committed to the Premier League champions.

“I want to stay, I don’t have any reasons to move,” he said. “I am incredibly satisfied to work with this club, with these players.

“I like to have this challenge, I love to be in this position. If the club wants me next season I want to be here 100 percent. I want to live in this city because I know lovely people here and I want to work and live with them and I want to be here.

“If they (the club’s hierarchy) decide the results are getting worse then they are going to take a decision, that’s normal. It’s not because I am friends with Txiki (Begiristain, sporting director) that I am going to stay for the rest of my life. I am here because I (keep) winning.”
