Aymeric Laporte is slowly working his way back to full fitness at Manchester City.
The centre-back had been out of action for almost five months prior to his return to action against Sheffield United last Tuesday.
Laporte suffered a knee injury during the 4-0 win over Brighton at the end of August and required surgery, that has kept him sidelined.
The defender was not risked during the FA Cup demolition of Fulham at the weekend, nor the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Manchester United on Wednesday, as he is eased back into first team duty.
There were some question marks over his return and whether he had been rushed back too soon.
And City boss Pep Guardiola has offered an update on his centre-back's fitness ahead of the match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
He hinted that he may not be available to play against Spurs, which would hand Jose Mourinho's side a huge boost.
Guardiola said: "He’s ok. He’s got a bit of fatigue. No injury but we don’t want to take risks.
"Hopefully he can play against Spurs but if not, maybe he will play against West Ham."
Guardiola made a facial expression after saying they did not want to take risks and before saying "hopefully" he would be ok for the Tottenham clash that suggested he might be left out.
It will be a case of watch this space now for the team sheets on Sunday afternoon to see if Spurs have been handed an advantage.
