Pep Guardiola confirms quadruple injury boost and names starter vs Manchester United

Manchester City have a clean bill of health for the FA Cup final vs Manchester United after Pep Guardiola had last week cast doubt over four key players.

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Manu Akanji and Ruben Dias had missed City's Premier League defeat by Brentford last Sunday and Guardiola had said they were doubtful for the FA Cup final this weekend. However, all four trained this week after two days off, giving the manager a full squad to pick from to face United.

And Guardiola also confirmed that cup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega will tokeep his place after starting every FA Cup game this season, meaning Ederson will watch from the bench.

On his squad's fitness, Guardiola said: "They trained well in the training sessions the last two days. No concerns. They are more or less fine."

And regarding his goalkeeper selection decision, the manager backed Ortega to cap a fine season as number two.

"He’s going to play yeah," he said. "It's always like that, even in Barcelona, Bayern Munich. The keeper who has played FA Cup is going to play FA Cup."
