Pep Guardiola agent breaks silence after Man City Champions League ban

Pep Guardiola has no intention to leave Manchester City and will fulfill his contract with the Blues in the wake of the club's ban from the Champions League, his agent has claimed.

UEFA have imposed a two-year ban from European competitions after deeming City to have "seriously breached" regulations regarding club licensing and sponsorship deals.

City have confirmed they will appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and club executives are confident the ban will be overturned.

Nevertheless, speculation has been rife that Guardiola and plenty of the City squad could leave as a result of the ban.

However, the City boss' agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, has confirmed his client intends to honour his contract at the club.

"Guardiola always fulfils all his contracts," he told El Mundo . "And this [contract with City] concludes in June 2021."

In the weeks leading up to the ban, Guardiola reiterated he was committed to City until the end of his current contract.

By staying until 2021, the time spent on Eastlands would be his longest stint at one club.

Guardiola said on January 17: "I’m staying unless they sack me – 100 per cent, unless they don’t like it.

"I’ve said it many times. Not because we won the last two games. I’m sorry, I’m going to stay.

"I enjoy working with them, I like it. But even if it was going bad I’m not going anywhere. No manager wins all the time, we’ve lost some games so what can we do to get better, it’s simple."
