Pep Guardiola admits big concerns with his verdict on Man City vs Liverpool title race

Pep Guardiola admits he's concerned by Manchester City's recent performance, saying they will be relegated if they play like that did in the first half against Aston Villa.

The Citizens ran out 3-0 winners over the Villians on Saturday, closing the gap on title rivals Liverpool to three points ahead of their match with Tottenham.

But Guardiola's side went into the break level with Aston Villa before netting three times in the second half to win the game.

And the Manchester City boss is worried that if his side perform as they did in the first half against Villa more regularly they will hand the title to Liverpool.

"I am not concerned about the table. I am concerned about the way we played," said Guardiola, after the win over Villa.

"If we play the level we played in the second half we will be there at the end of the season. If we play the way we did in the first half, we will be relegated.

"We played good 45 minutes, not the other ones. Credit to Aston Villa.

"The fast half we play football but not in the way we should play.

"The second half we were better, we play in the way we normally are but we have to try and play 90 minutes not just 45."
