Brits who have a foreign holiday planned this summer have been warned to check that their red passports are still valid for travel. Although there may be a few months remaining on your passport before it expires, this might not be enough to meet the requirements of certain destinations.
Different countries have specific entry requirements in place and it’s important to be aware of these before you travel - these can also cover passport validity. For lots of countries holidaymakers must have at least six months to go on their passports, WalesOnline reports.
As many people haven’t been abroad since the start of the pandemic it can be easy to assume your passport is still valid, but passengers should double check what the requirements are at their destination. According to VisaGuide.World there are 70 countries that have a six-month passport rule, while another 41 apply to three-month passport validity rule.
