People whose age ends in a 9 most likely to cheat on partner, survey warns

Those whose age ends in nine are most likely to step out of line romantically, warns a survey.

One in five people who joined a website to cheat on their spouse were at the end of their decade. Research found we are at our most faithful when our age ends in a three.

Ex-footballer Peter Crouch reportedly cheated on model Abbey Clancy in 2010 when he was 29.

And actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, was 49 when he had a fling with housekeeper Mildred Baena, behind the back of wife Maria Shriver.

The findings came from a poll of 4,000 UK users of romance site IllicitEncounters.com.

One named Hayley from Surrey said: “I started an affair three months before my fiftieth.

“I think with each decade you question the meaning of life - why are we here, is this really it?

“My relationship with my husband lacks adventure and romance. I have a burning zest for life inside me and I want to nurture that flame before it goes out.”

Kieran, 39, London, added ‘I’ve been faithful my entire marriage, until this year. I feel like my 20’s were for making mistakes, 30’s were made up of sacrifices and settling down.

“Now I’m nearing 40 life has gotten serious and boring. I love my wife, we make a really good team, I’d never sabotage my marriage. But I do miss flirting and the excitement you get from meeting new women.”

Relationship expert Jessica Leoni, said: “More people cheat coming up to a milestone birthday because they examine the last decade of their life and realise it has not lived up to their expectations.

"They worry they’ve missed out.

“It’s a race to go after something that’s been lacking in the last decade and make some changes before the youth of today is stolen by a landmark birthday.”
