Following Oprah Winfrey’s explosive interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, fans of the presenter have seemingly identified her next interviewee.
Hundreds of thousands of people online have thrown their support behind the idea of an interview with embattled pop star Britney Spears.
Spears was recently the subject of a hit documentary on FX and Hulu, entitled Framing Britney Spears.
The doc came amid a resurgence in interest in the #FreeBritney movement, which seeks to extricate Spears from a legal guardianship, in place since 2008 and overseen by her father, Jamie Spears.
Britney fans took to social media to put forward the “...Baby One More Time” singer as a candidate for Winfrey’s next big interview.
“OPRAH, DO BRITNEY SPEARS NEXT,” wrote one person, in a post which has received over 200,000 likes.
“Say it with me now: ‘CBS Presents Oprah with Britney Spears’,” wrote someone else.
“Britney on Oprah, omg it would SHOCK the f***ing world. I hope this happens Britney needs the same platform to tell her story,” wrote another person.
Winfrey did in fact feature Spears as a guest on her series The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 2002, but fans seem eager for the musician to be offered another chance for an in-depth special.
