People want Cadbury Spira bars back, and there's a petition

Last week, we brought you news that Cadbury would be bringing back its nostalgic Bournville Old Jamaica Rum and Raisin bars.

The news quickly went viral, and hundreds of thousands of chocaholics up and down the UK expressed how excited they were to see its return.

However, the dark chocolate bar appeared to be outshone by another of Cadbury's retro treats - the Spira bar.

So much so, in fact, hundreds of you took to Facebook to demand the return of the Twirl-style snack.

The Spira bar was first sold in shops in the mid-1980s, where it was only available in shops in the North-West and South-West of England. Due to its popularity, the Spira was then rolled out across the whole of the UK, before being discontinued in 2005.

Posting on the Manchester Evening News page, Amanda Whitehead said: "Still waiting for the Spira to come back. Think I’ll be dead before that happens."

Nikki Taylor said: "Bring the "Spira" back so I can dip them in my cup of tea and drink it like a straw!!!!"

Amy Harris said: "What needs to be brought back are Spira’s and Fuse bars!"

Karen Louise Sutcliffe said: " Straight to comments to see how many people mentioned Spiras and good people of facebook you did not let me down! One day Cadbury's will listen to us!"

Hannah Monaghan said: "Just bring back the Spira, nobody is arsed about this one."

Becky Berg said: "If it's not a Spira I am not interested #bringbackthespira ."

Jamie Cassidy said: "I'm hoping it's the spira. Best chocolate bar they ever made."

After reading all of your comments we went out to find a petition to bring back the Spira, and we found one.

You can sign it here . Cadbury, if you're listening, you know what to do.
