A town has seen an "emergency shutdown" and will be without power till approximately 7.30pm.
Formby residents have been left without power and told to unplug all electrical devices as the area undergoes an emergency shutdown for urgent repairs.
Scottish Power logged the blackout on their website as well as sending texts to Formby residents warning them of the potential outage.

The log was opened at 10.30am today, with them estimating it will be resolved by 7.30pm this evening.
The postcodes said to be affected by the outage are L37 7JT and L37 7JW.
The log said: "There is an unplanned power cut affecting the L37 postcode area of Formby, affecting properties in Moss Side and surrounding streets. It will be necessary for our engineers to carry out an emergency shutdown at 5pm to repair damaged overhead lines.
"Our team will be carrying out repair work safely on the overhead network and this may affect the supply to your property. We will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible, and we expect the power to be restored by 7.30pm.
"We will update this message if this information changes. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
The text sent to those who live in the surrounding areas said: "This is a message regarding the electricity supply in the L37 postcode area of Formby. Our engineers need to carry out an emergency shutdown due to an unexpected fault in your area The supply will be disconnected for safety reasons at 5pm to repair damaged overhead lines and this may affect your property.
"Power is expected to be back on by 7.30pm and we will make every effort to update you if this changes. We recommend to protect our equipment, and where it is safe to do so, you should switch off and unplug all electrical appliances including your boiler.
