People think Wales hero Aaron Ramsey has picked up an Italian accent and they are loving it

Wales took a giant leap towards the Euro 2020 knockout stages on Wednesday night and through it all, Aaron Ramsey was superlative.

The Juventus midfielder was a constant threat to the Turkish defence, carving out gilt-edged opportunities before finally breaking the deadlock shortly before the break.

For Rob Page, it was the ideal performance from his talismanic midfielder. For Ramsey, his 85 minutes out on the park in the searing heat of Baku was a pleasing indication of where his fitness levels are currently at after an injury-hit season in Italy.

However, for those watching at home, the thing that seemingly caught the eye of many occurred not during the 90 minutes, but in a post-match interview instead.

Speaking to the BBC after the final whistle, plenty of people watching picked up on the fact that Ramsey's Caerphilly accent had appeared to have altered a little after two years in Italy.

Watch the interview here:

Ramsey will get a chance to practice his Italian this weekend, as Wales take on Italy in Rome on Sunday - pitching the former Arsenal playmaker against many of his Juve team-mates.

Kick-off against the Azzurri is at 5pm (UK time) on Sunday, June 20.
