Three people have been taken to hospital after a fire in a block of flats.
The blaze broke out in a property in Whincraig flats, in Stockbridge Village, in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, June 13. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance attended the fire and two firefighters were inside the block, extinguishing the flat involved.
Three people from inside the flat were already outside of the property by the time fire crews arrived. They were taken to hospital by paramedics with smoke inhalation for further assessment.
Fire crews began ventilation and then handed the scene over to the housing association representative.
Last night Stockbridge Village was plunged into darkness after a power cut hit the area from 10pm and hundreds of houses within eight postcodes were affected.
