Day-trippers who travelled 100 miles into Wales were sent home by police for breaking the rules around lockdown.
Officers have been patrolling North Wales to make sure that no-one is taking advantage of more lenient arrangements in England to visit the region's beauty spots.
Four people who had come for a day trip to Barmouth from Walsall - a distance of around 100 miles - were stopped and sent home, North Wales Live reports.
Officers stopped four more people who had travelled from Liverpool to enjoy a day at the beach.
Police also pulled a vehicle in Barmouth at 9.45am and found out that the driver had travelled from the West Midlands.
He told officers that he had come to do some work on his second home.
He was reported for breaching the rules and sent home.
Lockdown regulations in Wales state that people must only travel if their journey is essential, which includes going to get food and medicine.
In England, lockdown measures changed earlier this week to allow people to travel for leisure purposes - however that does not apply in Wales.
Residents outside of Wales are being reminded that the travel restrictions lifted in England do not apply here – and anyone travelling into Wales will be subject to Welsh legislation.
Temporary assistant chief constable, Nigel Harrison, said: “Whilst minor amendments were made to the legislation in Wales the message to our communities remains consistent.
“The vast majority of people have followed the guidance to stay home, protect the NHS and save lives and I echo the plea of colleagues in Welsh Government and the health service for everyone to continue to do so.
“We want to make it clear that Welsh Government legislation is applicable here and our local communities should be adhering to the rules outlined in them.”
Mr Harrison added: “Our tourist attractions, parts of the national park, pubs, restaurants, cafes, caravan, holiday parks and campsites all remain closed.
It comes after officers from Gwent Police were patrolling the Severn Bridge, earlier today.
They tweet that they were doing "Covid patrols at the gateway to Wales".
