People say they will be making their own luck in the Year of the Rabbit

People plan to make their own luck in 2023 as the Lucky Girl Syndrome trend on TikTok encourages people to embrace using positive affirmations to welcome in luck. Almost two-thirds of us say people make their own luck compared to those who feel they are born lucky (34%).

Almost half of people who say they make their own luck said being optimistic is the most effective way to lead a lucky life followed by those who prefer to use the technique of positive affirmations and taking risks, with women believing in the power of positivity more than men.

The stats from Grosvenor Casinos have been released ahead of Lunar New Year this Sunday, January 22.

Sarah Sculphur, Marketing Director at Grosvenor Casinos, said: “As we look forward to celebrating the Year of the Rabbit, which symbolises the luckiest of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, these new survey results show that many of us believe that embracing an optimistic outlook or adopting positive attitudes and behaviours are the most effective way of bringing luck into your life in 2023.”

To celebrate Chinese New Year, Grosvenor Casino venues will be participating in a national prize draw to win a share of £88,888, with prize draws on Sunday 22 and 29 January.
